Nana Minder Receives Athletic Award at Loomis Chaffee School

The Loomis Chaffee Athletics Department gathered recently with varsity student athletes, their parents, coaches, and Head of School Sheila Culbert to celebrate the accomplishments of Pelican teams this spring. Director of Athletics Bob Howe and other members of the Athletics Department bestowed honors upon Pelican athletes for their participation and dedication to varsity teams.

Junior Nana Minder of Brooklyn was named Founders League Champion for Girls Track and Field in the 4x400m relay. The team also set a new Loomis Chaffee school record. In addition, Nana was third in the 100 m dash, tying a Loomis Chaffee school record.

The Loomis Chaffee School, located in historic Windsor, Connecticut, is an internationally recognized college preparatory boarding school for grades 9-12 that fosters critical thinking and a global perspective in talented students from around the state, the country and the world. Since 1914, the school has offered educational opportunities for boys and girls regardless of religious or political beliefs, national origin, or financial resources. Academically challenging, the school promotes active learning within a respectful and civil community. This year, Loomis Chaffee awarded $7.7 million in financial aid to 34 percent of the student body. The school’s 650 students represent 31 countries and 30 U.S. states.
